The Los Angeles Rams have lost another safety due to injury but this time it’s for the year. The team announced that third-round pick Terrell Burgess will miss the rest of the season with a broken ankle. The injury was suffered on Monday Night Football during a play in which Burgess crouched down to make a tackle and got his ankle caught underneath the ball carrier.

The Rams now appear to be relatively thin in the safety room at the moment with just John Johnson III, Taylor Rapp, Nick Scott, JuJu Hughes and JR Reed (practice squad). The good news is that sixth-round stud Jordan Fuller is expected to be back after the bye week. Still though, it’s tough to see a talented rookie have their season cut short. There’s no doubt the Rams have long-term plans for Burgess and he will be counted on big-time next year with the potential of Johnson III leaving in free agency.
