The birthday boy military tank shirt Also, the t-shirt design community is known for its affinity towards pop culture characters, especially classic video games. And the competition is getting even more enticing because of the main man that will judge the designs – none other than the senior managing director and creative fellow at Nintendo, Shigeru Miyamoto himself. It’s freebie time! Another week, another awesome design curated by the Tshirt Factory team, this time in collaboration with contributing illustrator Rizki Ratria.A member on the site for almost a year now, this talented Indonesian freelancer tackles themes like biker prints, skulls, detailed wildlife, death, and my personal favorite, famous princesses, holding “delicate” things such as chainsaws, machine guns, tomahawks and other such tools, worthy of a rebel spirit. I say famous because it doesn’t take much to see the resemblance between his characters and some popular female cartoon heroines. His take is quite original, the ladies look ruthless! But the design chosen for the week to be downloaded for free by our visitors is in sync with the majority of our themes: skulls and bikes.

For our interpretation of this trend, we used our Street Fleece campaign imagery for the back and our logo for the front. The birthday boy military tank shirt We’ll show you how to achieve this by using multiple layers of white and black ink and an accent of white puff ink for slight dimension. Looking at a black and white image, you might assume it’s a two screen print. However for this image, we employed the use of seven screens to get a soft, tonal and gradient look. We used two underbase screens, two black screens, two whites, and one extra screen with white puff ink for a subtle accent of texture and dimension. Printing on the front of a garment can be challenging, but we’ll show you how we achieved precision placement, negotiating the zipper. We recommend using what we call a soft top platen. It’s coated with a silicone foam topper and is about 3/8 thick. It will compress down as we print, which is really important to avoid ripping the screen open as it pulls across. Spritz a light mist of tack, flatten out the garment and it’s ready to print! Looking for one extra layer of protection? Try applying painters tape so there’s no part of that hot metal zipper that’s going to touch the screen.
